1.1.11

It's the first day of the first month

of 2011!!!

So many ones!

Like

one

lovely swim in a beach pool with laughing kids, happy families all around

one

long, lazy nap with a fan blowing on my skin

one

clean room—my girl's
(as part of my new pact to clean/tidy one space a day…
nothing too big so I don't get overwhelmed!)

one

discovery of a blog,
the mama being just my kind of mama,
saying words I kept saying Yes! to.
(how I love the connections, the affirmations, the support
that can happen in the wondernet)

one

breaking in of a christmas present—
my husband's magical new salad bowl—
to accompany our delicious minestrone soup
(and yes, we're still vegetarians, 7 months in!)

one

boy falling just as we embarked on a sunset walk with the dog,
spraining his wrist (at least I hope that's all he did)

one

set of headphones, music drifting into my ears

one

really big desire to finish my book
(or at least, to write and write and write it)

one

equally big desire

to take life head on,

to seize all days,

to see the beauty in as many small moments as my senses can stand,

to hear my kids and husband say, I love you,

to watch for magic…
(because it is everywhere)

and

with all my heart and bones and breath

to

be.

Happy

Happy

New Year!
