The last 24 hours have been filled to the brim with…
books made,
stories told,
(Mine are the green boxes, hers are the black… the 2 of us making whiteboard stories on a sleepy Sunday morning) |
Then hot chocolates sipped…
while walking to the sea,
and a path followed
…to a glorious ocean
Colours discovered,
patterns made,
this pattern is by me… the rest are my girl's :) |
and a hat caught by the wind and lost to the sea (oh no! But so funny, too!).
Then…
home for more drawing!
And more stories!
So much to talk about;
so much laughter!
She is such a joy to be with.
What a beautiful friend.
Every mum needs a daughter :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ingi! Every mum is so lucky, I think! :) As mums we get to have these amazing companions, daughters and sons; we get to share their dreams and hear their ideas, be part of the things they love, play with them and see their joy. And as a homeschooling mum, I get to have these beautiful people around me every single day of my life! Well, you know what it's like, too (most days!). I'm sure to some people it must sound too good to be true…but it's how I feel. I feel so blessed.
DeleteAnd of course my boy saw this post and said, "Hey, what about me?" and I said, "I'll write about you, when I get to spend a day with you!" He's always at the circus, you see. We have a date planned for Sunday. I can't wait.
What a lovely day with your girl x
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Lou! It's always so nice to see you here. I hope you are having lovely days with your two, too! :)
DeleteJust lovely, as always. You two are writing stories within stories.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely comment! Thank you so much. I love the idea of us writing stories within stories—what a beautiful way of seeing it. :)
DeleteLove this! Do you have an only child? Mine is 9. How old is yours?
ReplyDeleteThank you! My girl is one of two—I also have a son who is 13. He is often off at circus training, which is his passion, so doesn't get to go to the beach as often as we do! :) My daughter is 10, and lives and breathes art and writing. Thank you for stopping by!
Deletebeautiful photos and rock patterns and those books look so fun!! I just love your writing style...stopping by here was like a breath of fresh air!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Theresa! I'm so happy you like stopping by here—what a sweet comment! I hope you're having a really happy summer with your family :)
